The Fire And The Rose (or Let Nothing You Dismay)

The only savior from the burn of a half-baked existence is the sort of fire that shifts our shape and molds our mettle. Whenever the year comes to its Gregorian end, we exchange grand overtures, symphonically declaring what a good year the one ahead will be for us all. What we rarely mention is that shit is bound cloud the rivers of joy despite our most valiant efforts. What we hardly discuss is the notion that triumph and defeat are one and the same.

Slouching Towards Bethlehem

“Past life”…past lives. Indeed, I have been many beings at different times and sometimes all at once. I have been the impetuous and impatient child; I have been the confident teenager and the surreptitiously diffident adult; I have been that girl who couldn’t run between two goalposts had my very existence depended on it and I have inhabited the life of, as my friend Tom christened it, “the Ghanaian Lara Croft”

The Heights of Machu Picchu

Down through the blurred splendor, down through the night of stone, let me plunge my hand and let the ancient heart of the forgotten throb within me like a bird imprisoned for a thousand years! Today let me not forget

Doughnuts for a Cure

Doing my usual internet rounds a little two weeks ago, I spotted a photo of sumptuous looking cake doughnuts on www.tastespotting.com— I unabashedly visit Tastespotting along with Tom and Lorenzo everyday. I clicked on the link with the plan to quickly feast my eyes
